Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
The IQ Test is designed to collect as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no registration, and we do not ask for your name or email address to take the test or to purchase a report. This policy explains what little we do process, why, and your rights over it.
Who we are
The IQ Test (startiqtest.com) is operated by DadLink Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16161444), which is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact details are at the end of this page.
What we collect
When you take the test, we create a pseudonymous session record containing:
- Your answers to the 30 questions and the time you spent on each
- Your computed score, percentile, and difficulty-band breakdown
- Timestamps for when the session started and finished
- A randomly generated session identifier
This record contains no name, email address, account, or other direct identifier. Like most websites, our hosting and cloud infrastructure also processes standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and operations.
If you purchase a score report, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details. Stripe provides us with confirmation that a given session has been paid for, together with the amount and currency. Any personal details you enter at checkout (such as an email address for your receipt) are collected and processed by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy.
If you contact us for support, we will process whatever contact details and information you choose to send us in order to reply.
What we use it for
- Providing the service: scoring your test, taking payment, and showing you your report (legal basis: performance of a contract).
- Improving the test: aggregated, pseudonymous answer data is used to calibrate question difficulty and refine scoring accuracy over time (legal basis: legitimate interests). This analysis is statistical and is never used to make decisions about any individual.
- Security and operations: technical logs are used to keep the service running and to prevent abuse (legal basis: legitimate interests).
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build marketing profiles.
Where your data lives
Session records are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the europe-west2 (London) region. Payments are processed by Stripe, which may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards described in Stripe's documentation. Our service providers are:
- Google Cloud / Firebase (hosting, database, and serverless functions)
- Stripe (payment processing)
How long we keep it
Session records are retained so that paid reports remain accessible to the people who bought them, and so that pseudonymous answer data can continue to inform test calibration. Technical logs are retained for the short periods set by our infrastructure providers. If you would like a specific session record deleted, contact us with the report link or session identifier and we will remove it.
Cookies
The test and content pages set no advertising or analytics cookies. Essential cookies may be set by Stripe during checkout to operate the payment process securely. Because we use only essential cookies, no consent banner is required.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection in relation to your personal data. Because test sessions carry no direct identifiers, exercising these rights for a session usually requires you to provide the session identifier from your report link so that we can locate the record. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
The service is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children; the service requires no personal details that would identify a user's age.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be noted prominently on the site.
